Love this the Mono Forum, just great... Here is a pic of a recent trip into London we made with a friend in his rather large looking KTM!

Welcome to this little corner of the world SV! Thanks for posting. Great photo, you won't see that combo very often. Really highlights the size difference between the Mono and XBow, I had no idea how huge the KTM is :p And a great illustration of the penalty (compromise) of building a two-passenger vehicle vs a...Mono.

Any other great shots from the SuperVettura (http://www.supervettura.com/) files?

Hi Peter,

Thanks for the welcome...! It looks like you have been having fun in the US with our friends from North of the border. Hope that they have been behaving a good time and behaving themselves, not shown you too many of their party tricks I hope!!

Couple more pictures for you below from the other night including a video from the Summer of us in a Mono doing what the Mono does best, London traffic in the Morning and then a drive to Silverstone in the Afternoon for a blast. Best of Both Worlds...

Wow, how cool are those shots? Great stuff! No party tricks, I feel denied, or should I? :) It was such as special treat to have time with other "ultimate" car guys who's design philosophy matches mine. What more can a car enthusiast ask for? Living a dream that's for sure.

Yes, my three, slow, paced laps were just enough to really make the wait tough!

The BHP Project video - A drive through London at night with four cars: BAC Mono, KTM XBow, Ariel Atom,
Caterham R300.

No smoking tires or lurid powerslides, just four owners having fun cruising the town. These lightweight, high-performance cars look perfectly at home :-L

Wow, pretty awesome eh?

Finally we get to see a hot lap on a track that is well known. So taking into account 1. Driver used the "official" track-out areas of the course as opposed to many videos you see where cars are many feet out from, and beyond, the track out, 2. Driver was impeded twice, last one severely and 3. Traction seemed severely compromised to my eyes, lot of trouble keeping the car hooked up (tires? cold ambient temps? I don't know the reason), I measured a 2:42 lap. That is fully respectable.

What do you think about this lap? :)

that is the same car that there was a youtube vid on the Nurbergring where he has what looks like lift off oversteer. Not sure if just at speed the front gets light? Surprised by all the steering input needed.

Pete any of that on your test drives or feed back from the European owners?

Yes, same red Mono, one of the initial deliveries along with the white one. Funny you mention the lift off oversteer because after seeing that video and the spin, I though the rev-match on the downshift was not calibrated and I was afraid of (clutchless) downshifts while threshold braking coming into corners. I asked Shinoo about it and he clarified that incident (near instant spin right before turn in) was actually the result of the brake bias being set too much to the rear. Remember, both that red and white car are rental cars and folks may be mucking with controls they are not qualified to muck with, or setup might not be as diligent as with an personally owned car. Not meaning my comment to cast any aspersions on the rental company, I've never heard a bad word about them, just guessing.

When I drove Shinoo's car paced at 5/10's pace at SM, it was perfectly neutral, no hint of a twitchy rear end. Nor should there be anything but benign handling given the design and engineering of the car.

Yeah, in that video above he is really making good use of the steering :-). I still suspect a cold track and a cold day and maybe well worn tires in addition. But those are not facts anybody has made me aware of, just guessing (again).

Here is the Top Gear segment on the Mon. Highly complimentary. I expected a quick lap time, however I did not expect 2nd best of any car (1st if you think the current #1 "cheated" in regards to tires).

Awesome stuff, enjoy!
